TouchBase will be creating a therapeutic safe space for refugees, using the wonderful outdoor, living and growing, environment of local community allotment Plot 22. We will journey alongside ensuring all feel safe, seen and soothed. We will be modelling respect and compassion in all our interactions so that dignity can be communicated. We recognise that many refugees will be traumatised and, by utilising the orient-move-ground framework in all our sessions, we will facilitate the possibility of recovery.
We are keen to build a support base at Plot 22 and are in a position to provide wrap around care and support, due to our existing support services that we offer within education, therapy and the community, together with trusted partners in education, social services and the wider community. We are well respected in Brighton & Hove as a trauma recovery provision.
We are especially interested in running two separate project groups for (a) those aged 16-25 and (b) those parenting babies or school aged children. Please note we do not have capacity for supporting toddlers on the plot at this time.
For more detail please click the button below to see our information leaflet.
There is a basic referral form that needs to be completed to express interest https://forms.office.com/r/29QdPBCALq
For all further enquiries please contact us on info@touchbase.org. All applicants or referrers will be contacted to confirm your place in the group.
We do hope you will either recommend this project to those that you think might benefit, come yourself or support us by providing some of the resources we might need.
