Marieke has been working with children and young people, their parents and carers; and schools, in both primary and secondary settings in Brighton and Hove since 2006. She has developed a special interest and passion in supporting young people who have experienced relational traumas and losses. She has participated in many training courses with Louise Bomber and been supervised by her over the last 10 years.

Marieke has recently completed the Attachment Lead in Schools 7- day course, accredited by Brighton University, facilitated by Louise. Working both as Teaching Assistant and specialist one to one support for vulnerable young people Marieke is now delighted to be working alongside Louise Bomber at the TouchBase Centre co-ordinating the support interventions for young people, their families and schools to enable them to function well at home, school and out in their communities. She believes that recovery is so very possible within community.

Marieke has also set up her own service offering attachment aware and trauma informed, therapeutic respite for adoptive and foster families, integrating Theraplay, DDP and sensory informed practices. She can be contacted on for this support.

Marieke is committed to regular continued professional development together with TouchBase, to extend her expertise in attachment and trauma informed interventions. She works closely with Louise to ensure all our services are well matched to the needs of the child, family or school and that they are delivered to a high standard.
