At TouchBase we are committed to strengthening the bonds of attachment in the school context as we know children and young people can often feel lost due to their lived adverse childhood experiences, struggling with dysregulation and distrust. It is crucial that this pupil feels seen, soothed and understood. That they feel that they belong. We know that when we attend to the pupil’s attachment system well that their exploratory system linked to learning will be activated well too as they are directly correlated. We therefore practice DDP together with pupils and key staff, providing dyadic therapy in school, rather than offering individual therapy. Currently we are working in mainstream secondary schools local to Brighton & Hove.
