Team Pupil Support Groups

These half-termly support groups provide an afternoon of reflective space to build knowledge, skill you up and share experiences.

They are free to attend for Teaching Assistants, Mentors, Teachers, SENCos and Senior Managers who are Key Adults or are involved in Team Pupil for Brighton & Hove children and young people, seeking to work in an Attachment Aware and Trauma Responsive way.

Seguridad is a Spanish word meaning “security”, which is at the heart of our therapeutic, developmental trauma intervention.

Seguridad supports all those directly involved with a child or young person who has experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to work together as a team in a therapeutic way, in order to support both learned security and recovery. The parent or carer decides who is best placed to be engaged in the intervention with them, for example: the social worker, the therapist, the youth worker, the Key Adult. Together we identify the five key areas that need most attention. We then use a range of known attachment-aware, trauma-responsive, creative tools and strategies that support both regulation and relationship in these focused areas. Seguridad is an individualised intervention.

We also offer Seguridad Plus which includes more in-depth, long-term support for all those involved with the child or young person through therapeutic consultations that follow up the initial piece of work. All the Seguridad work facilitates rich, relational contexts in order for recovery to take place including the use of Theraplay® and DDP informed practice.
