Anne Henderson

Strategic Attachment Lead and Specialist Teacher

Anne has over 20 years’ experience working in Education.

She is a Strategic Lead Teacher and adoptive parent with extensive knowledge working as a class teacher, assistant head and currently as a Specialist Teacher, supporting schools, pupil groups, teachers and staff in schools from Reception to Year 11.

Anne currently works with school staff, facilitating groups for teachers who are interested to become more inclusive for vulnerable pupils and is keen to promote an attachment framework in which staff can understand pupil behaviour and to promote the idea of classrooms as a safe space.  She is passionate about promoting an understanding of the impact of early childhood experiences on pupil wellbeing and development.

Anne has worked closely alongside Louise Michelle Bomber for many years and encourages staff to be reflective before using any interventions and to be aware that behaviour is communication.

Armed with a wealth of strategies, Anne specialises in working alongside schools so is able to contribute current, real-life cases and solution focussed thinking to those involved in education. She has continued her own professional development to completed DDP and  Theraplay level 1 and level 2 Training. Anne is also an accredited trainer and practitioner in Therapeutic Story Writing and Story Links, she completed a year long foundation study in Drama Therapy. When working alongside pupils, Anne is keen to use a PACE informed approach and to integrate the latest research into trauma and interpersonal neurobiology in her work.
