Jennie Fellows

Education Lead and Strategic Therapeutic Attachment Lead

Jennie is the Education Lead for TouchBase™, as well as a Therapeutic Attachment Lead across Sussex and nationally. She is a BACP accredited therapist, and has trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) as well as completing a number of short trainings in EMDR, and creative approaches to therapy at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. She has also completed BUSS Level 1 training.

Jennie has been working in education for over 20 years. She first began working with young people following post-graduate training in theatre; her first project was a piece about belonging in a special school in South London. She has since worked with a wide range of children and young people on many different drama projects including partnerships with the Young Vic and the National Theatre, as well as working as a creative consultant in a large secondary school for a number of years, alongside pupils and teachers to develop and implement creative interventions to engage vulnerable young people. Jennie has also worked as a specialist behaviour support worker for Brighton and Hove council, which included facilitating 1:1 sessions with pupils, supervision and support groups for school staff, the delivery of school-based trainings, and contributing to Brighton and Hove’s NQT behaviour training.

Jennie has been working at TouchBase™ for 10 years. She now looks after the Education Team, as well as continuing to carry out Seguridad, our developmental trauma intervention, and overseeing the Reflective Space offered by TouchBase.

Jennie’s psychodynamic training means that her curiosity about the impact of early experience is at the centre of her work. Drawing on this curiosity, as well as her understanding of trauma, developmental psychology, neuroscience and education, she works alongside teachers, teaching assistants, mentors, parents, Educational Psychologists and other professionals to create relational pathways to facilitate adaption and recovery within the school context. Jennie is a passionate and committed advocate for children and young people who have experienced relational trauma and loss and has a strong belief in the reparative power of relationship and connection.
